Equity (The Actors’ Equity Association) is a labor union that represents live-theater actors and stage managers. A study by the union shows that women and minorities get fewer jobs and lower pay than white men. Equity recently hired its first diversity director and will try to diversify its own organization as well as meet with producers, writers, and others to discuss challenges facing the industry.
