Business case study: Network design proposal for a real estate company

Description: A small, independent, Real-estate company "Estate Tigers" has decided to purchase computers and install an office network so they can begin receiving and handling online applications, manage rented properties and updating accounts. Up to now, they have been completely computer-less, but they know times are changing and they need to use technology to remain competitive.

This company has four (4) different departments (Admin-Rental, Admin-Sale, Accounts, and Agents) in Sydney. The company wants to expand its branch office to Queensland with the same office setup as in Sydney. Its Sydney office sits on approximately 10 locations and serves over 100 staff and 20 guest users. Each office has four departments under same building, with each department on each building floor.

The company needs a comprehensive, technologically advanced Network solution that is cost effective and allow for network monitoring for this main office. The solution had to be easy to deploy and manage due to limited staff.

Note: Consider your role as a technical consultant, who understands the requirements and suggests a network solution. Make a report with the following contents: Executive Summary Goals List five questions you wish to ask the general manager on the first meeting with the general manager. Network Topology and its diagram Project hardware requirements (only for one office) with estimated budget. o Name(s) of the network device(s) with manufacturer's name, series, model and ports o Type of the cables o Name of the server, PC with specification such as operating system, RAM, hard disk etc. Assignment Instructions: Formative Assignment-1 should be submitted as MS Word documents. Make sure you properly reference any diagrams/ graphics used in the assignment. Must consider at least two current references from journal/conference papers and books. Must follow IEEE referencing style.
