post, read the following scenario and provide your answer to the following questions: Scenario: Marge Johnson is a gymnastics coach who owns a gymnastics academy. She conducts age group classes at her facility. Her 5 to 7 p.m. class on Tuesday and Thursday has too many students enrolled for one instructor. The ratio should be 10 to 1 and not 21 to 1. As a result, Marge wants to keep the class of 9 year old females active so she asks three students from an earlier 13 year old class to stay after and help her with the 9 year old class. Marge goes over the instructional activities with the entire class. She has one of the 13 year old gymnasts demonstrate the skill which is a cart wheel with a round off back flip. The class performed cart wheels in the last class and the back flip will be a new skill today. Three groups are organized with 7 gymnasts in each group. The groups are assigned practice locations at different places on the mats. Marge plans to circulate around to each station in order to view each group as they practice. Without any warm ups or stretching exercises, the gymnasts form one line at each of the three stations and run one gymnast at a time at the spotter from 30 feet away to complete a cart wheel and round off with the help of the spotter. The 13 year old spotters are not coaches nor are they trained in spotting techniques. Just five minutes into the drill one of the gymnasts cries out in pain as she runs into one of the 13 year old spotters who is standing in the wrong position on the mat. The injured gymnast also hits a piece of gymnastics equipment that is near the mat and not padded. The gymnast appears to be hurt seriously and the coach calls 911 on her cell phone for an ambulance. Two 13 year old gymnasts lift the injured gymnast to a bench near Marge's office. When the injured gymnast's parents arrive, they are very upset and decide to contact their attorney for a possible lawsuit. Questions: What type of supervision appears to be required in this case (e.g., general or specific)? Explain your choice. List 4 potential legal issues in this case and briefly explain each. If you were asked to re-do this case and to establish three guidelines for gymnastic coaches to follow for this type of situation, what would your three guidelines be? Submission Instructions: Post your answers to the discussion questions (250 word minimum), then CHANGE THE SUBJECT: use your preferred first name as the subject line (for example, James may want to be called Jim). post, read the following scenario and provide your answer to the following questions: Scenario: Marge Johnson is a gymnastics coach who owns a gymnastics academy.
