Search 10:48 AM Tue Apr 11 Instructions for assignment Open in Chrome Do a 2-Column Analysis of an actual "difficult conversation" you've had since February. After reflection, answer all the questions on the template. This conversation should be a verbal, one - not text/chat, etc. This Two Column Analysis is designed to help you step back from a conversation so you can better identify what happened and where there are opportunities to improve communication. Be as specific as you can be in terms of quoting exactly what was actually said/thought. Unless requested, you are not asked to give your summary of what the other person (or you) said...but to be specific: what was literally said. If, in the reflection portions of the template, you find you are repeating yourself - STOP, and reconsider what you've written and what each section is asking for. You can use any verbal conversation you would like - personal, professional, school-based, etc. Confidentiality will absolutely be maintained. Submit template with a file label starting with your last name, so: "Sanchez, Difficult Conversations" IMPORTANT NOTE: A difficult/unsatisfactory conversation is one in which you don't feel good about the results and the outcome is not one that you hoped for. This might mean that you end up angry, confused, disappointed or just frustrated. In short, a Difficult Conversation is one that doesn't end well, not just one that makes you anxious. (Note: There are conversations we all must have that are hard to do, but that doesn't mean that they are necessarily 'difficult' in the sense used here). Some typical examples include: you can't reach agreement with a close associate (e.g., work- or room- mates). someone else does not recognize that they are not pulling their weight you are alone in believing that you are being treated unfairly you believe your point of view is being ignored or discounted the rest of your group/organization is resisting a change you want to implement you believe the group isn't paying enough attention to the most crucial problem The book is effective in defining a 'difficult conversation'. If you have doubts, ask me! [Note: Generally, the more difficult/upsetting a conversation - the easier the assignment!] 1/24/23 4:59 PM 97% Done Search 10:48 AM Tue Apr 11 Instructions for assignment Open in Chrome Do a 2-Column Analysis of an actual "difficult conversation" you've had since February.
