Question:
The ABC bank conducted a study on the services provided to its 1000 customers over the last month, and found that 800 customers have chequing account, 400 customers have saving account, and 300 customers have RRSP account. The bank also realized that all customers who have saving account also have chequing account, and only 100 of customers with saving account purchased an RRSP account. Furthermore, the bank found that half of the customers who purchased RRSP account have also chequing account.
With these observations, the bank would like to evaluate the following association rule:
Rule: "If a customer opens a chequing account, she/he will most likely open a saving account as well."
Derive the co-occurrence matrix.
Calculate the "Support", "Confidence", and "Lift for this rule.
Is this a strong rule? Why?
