The contract for the event has been returned from the cllent with some requested changes. Your client wants to change some details of the contract at the last minute for a week-long event. The contract is a 3 year contract with option to renew the current room rates for an additional 3 years at no more than a 3% increased rate that remains steady for all 3 years. They have specilied that because their theme for their annual National IlIstorical Association meeting might change each year, they want the option to be able to change the furniture style up until the last month before each year's meeting. Additionally they want t-shirts to be sold in the conference center gift shop during the event with all proceeds to go to the association. Confer with your service manager in the Team Discussion room to see If he/she will be able to dellver on these contract changes. Then, detall your team response to the contract (Insert your team #) in the regular Discussion Board In the Unit 5 Discusslon area. Provide justification for your team response based on both team members input since both sales and service managers must sign the contract. 1. Determine what you arc negotiating, what your collateral is, or points you have to negotiate with. 2. Determine what cannot change - legal, budget, etc. 3. Before you start to negotiate, know what your bottom line is below which you are not willing to rellnqulsh. 1. Determine where the other side is coming from. 5. Think about what you might propose as a midpolnt between where the other party wants to go and what you will ideally accept.. 6. Be willing to compromise a bit to get some of what you want while allowing the other party to save face and also to get some of what they want. 7. If you both have gotten some of what you wantedthen It has probably been a successful negotiation. Changes that are being requested: Alter first 3 years no more than a 3% increase on room rates Ability to have future changed up untl the last month before the meeting selling t-shirts in gift shop with all proceeds going to the association The contract for the event has been returned from the cllent with some requested changes.
