The Department of Health needs to distribute HIV test kits from its 7 regional offices (RO) to 11 syringe exchange programs (SEPS) across New York. Each syringe exchange program (SEP) submitted its requested number of HIV test kits to the Department of Health, and the Department of Health regional offices have sufficient supplies to distribute. Each SEP location needs to receive the exact number of boxes that they request. There are different costs to ship the boxes of HIV test kits from each regional office (RO) to each SEP. The Department of Health wants to minimize the total cost to distribute HIV test kits across the state. The LP Model tab of the Excel spreadsheet contains a table that shows the cost to ship each box of HIV test kits from the 7 regional offices to the 11 SEPS.
