There's no denying that we now live in a politically polarized society. And as our population ages, the transfer of power from the more conservative baby boomers to more liberal younger cohorts like millennials and Generation Z has begun. With that transfer is the call on brands and culture creators to create inclusive societies that positively impact people and our planet.

We live in a consumer based world and the products we are using are very important in our daily lives. I think it is very important for our brands that we are consuming to be doing good work for our world. This because they are receiving money from us every time we are purchasing their goods. We are indirectly funding their ideals and the way they put their money back into society. If they are not focusing on impacting the world in a positive way, we are indirectly negatively impacting our environment. This first reason this is important is because of the packaging's impact on the environment. Companies should be aware of their packaging and if it is recyclable or reusable. The same way that companies regulate if they are microwave safe or temperature safe, they should be regulating their biodegradable ability. One product that is not recyclable is not an issue, but these accumulate overtime and due to quantity. Brands want to become more popular and purchased frequently, but this means they will be disposed of more often as well. The second reason this is important is because of the large factories needed for the creation of these products. Their factories are unregulated for the environmental impact the majority of the time. They are creating smog in the airs and lowering the air quality because of the materials they are using. If they changed the materials to be more eco-friendly, they would be reducing their air pollution. They are also polluting the water in many areas because of the waste from their factories. They are simply dumping waste into their surrounding water sources and polluting them. If they used recyclable materials, the majority of their waste would also be recyclable. The third reason it is important is due to their animal testing. Many brands are coming out as cruelty-free due to the rise in protesting animal testing. We had modernized as a society that has been proven in many brands to eliminate animal testing. It is simply unnecessary at this point and would allow many people looking for these certifications in their brands to purchase more. Overall, these improvements would increase their amount of consumers and inspire more people to purchase from their brands.
