Draw the Block Diagram (BD) for the following synthesis process: Step 1 Three main reactants (A, B, and C) are continually fed into a reactor in fixed proportions. The following reaction takes place in the reactor: A+B+C ⇒D+E The reactor outlet stream contains mainly D, E, and unreacted C. Traces of A and B may be found there. Step 2 The reactor outlet is then sent to a static separator where the whole amount of E and 40 % of unreacted C are separated and sent to a distillation column to totally separate E (a side product) from C (a top product). Step 3 The other outlet stream from the static separator (containing D and 60% of unreacted C) is sent to a washing column where D is washed by C. The feed to this washing column comes from four sources: 1) the outlet stream from the static separator, 2) the top product C from the distillation column, 3) recycled C from the centrifuge described in the next step, and 4) a new freshly added C. The outlet of the washing column is divided into two streams: a) pure C that is recycled back to the reactor in the first step, and b) the washed D. Step 4 The washed D stream is sent to a centrifuge to totally separate D from any remaining C. The separated C is recycled back to the washing column in the previous step. Step 5 The outlet stream from the centrifuge containing D is sent to a neutralization tank to adjust its pH by adding weak acids and weak bases solutions. Step 6 The neutralized D is then sent to a drying furnace where the level of moisture is drop down to the required specification of the final product. Step 7 Dried D is then sent to molding machine to reshape it and pack it to be ready for the market.
