The Caledonian Technical and Laboratory Services (CATALYSE) department in a university are considering setting up a new computer lab for ITMB final year student project work. This lab will provide ITMB students with a dedicated computer lab for their project work. The new system should be in place by the start of Semester B (February 2021). The university's central Information Technology Services (ITSC) department will be responsible for pricing and installing the new computer lab. A budget of 15,000 OMR/- has been agreed for the project. For the project described above answer the following questions: (a) Discuss the computer lab project in terms of the three spheres of the systems management model (business, organisation and technology). (b) Discuss the computer lab project in terms of the project constraints of time, cost, scope and quality. (c) Discuss the factors that make Information Technology (IT) projects different from other projects, indicating how a project manager should adjust to these differences. (d) Describe the scope of configuration management when it is used throughout the project life-cycle.
