The Professor has programmed Turnitin for the submission folder to test for plagiarism. If an exam answer has a likeness score in Turnitin exceeding 15%, the responsible student will receive a zero grade on that submission. The Professor will assess Turnitin likeness scores very carefully. He will exclude appropriately quoted, and referenced information or is everyday technical language core to the profession. As such, being over 15% likeness score is not necessarily an automatic zero grade for an answer, but students should make every effort to ensure that anything that Turnitin finds is quoted and referenced or is an everyday technical language for your profession. Otherwise, students should rewrite, in their own words, sections identified by Turnitin. The Submission Folder will allow students to see their likeness score and, if necessary, make revisions to their answer in their own words or with proper quotations and references, and then resubmit into the same Submission Folder.
