A firm subject to OSHA inspections requires an OSHA inspector, who shows up unexpectedly one day, to get a warrant before engaging in the search. The firm owner knows that the inspector is a genuine inspector and that there is no question that the warrant to search will be issued. However, requiring the inspector to get the warrant takes half a day of the inspector’s time (which is paid for by taxpayers). Is it ethical to bar such inspections?
