Broadening Financial Research Skills: Identifying Competitors in an Industry
Reuters provides lists of industries and the competitors in each at www.reuters.com . Click on
“Sectors and Industries,” then “All Industries,” then one of the industries listed, then “Company Ranks.” When you skim down the page, you will find an alphabetical listing of companies in the industry.
Required:
Using your Web browser, go to the Reuters website and identify three competitors for the following industries:
1. Airline.
2. Hotels, motels, and cruise lines.
3. Footwear.
4. Computer hardware.
