Last-Minute Spring Break Ideas for College Students

Spring Break is upon us, and you need something to do that won’t break the bank. Here are eight last-minute spring break ideas for college students:

Rent a Car and Hit the Open Road with Some Friends

There’s nothing better than being in the company of people you love. No extravagant vacation or wild bikini party can supplement the sheer joy of hanging around with your pals. So, rent a car, pack as many friends into the car as you can handle, and hit the road. Keep off the highway, though. You’ll be surprised at all the amazing little wonders you’ll find along the way.

Hit Up Priceline for Some Cheap, Last-Minute Travel Destinations

As Spring Break approaches, hotels try their best to sell out hotels, so they’re packed for Spring Break. This means a lot of places are going to reduce prices the closer you get to Spring Break. Think of it like scalping tickets the morning of a game. Head on Priceline and see about a cheaper hotel for a spring getaway.

Rent a House Boat and Sail the Seas

If you want to avoid people at all costs, rent out a boat and take a vacation on the seas. Make your thoughts, seagulls, and the crashing waves your only company. It will be isolated, but it gives you time to take inventory of your life and just enjoy some peace, quiet, and beautiful emptiness.

Be a Tourist in Your Own City

So often, you get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of busy college life that you forget you’re in a new city. So, escape the stench of your dorm room and head out to the city. Use a tourist guide to hit all of the noteworthy sights around your city.

Join a Home-Exchange Program

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery to refresh your battery. So, list your home on a home-exchange service and experience life in a new home. This experience will have one of two impacts: you’ll either long to be back in the comfort of your home or you’ll regret that you have to go back.

Torture Yourself by Running a Marathon

With the time of your given, you have two options: R&R or torture. If you’re a masochist, why not run a marathon? You would have to do a lot of planning, which would include a lot of spaghetti, water, and jumping jacks, but the end result would be a rewarding experience that will energize you going back to school after Spring Break.

Visit National Monuments and Get Some Culture

Your elementary school social studies class really give you the glossy, rudimentary history of the country. So, you can take some time to get yourself cultured and learn a bit about the country you live in. Head to some museums or national monuments. There, you will find some human guides that can teach you a bit about exhibits in the museum or the historical context of important monuments.

Grab a Bike and Go Exploring

Sometimes, the best way to relax and recharge is to just get out there and wonder. You don’t need a destination or a goal; you just get out there and see where you take yourself. A great way to do this would be to get on a bike and just head t where your heart wants. Not only will you absorb beautiful spring air, you’ll also be getting some exercise.
