In a study to investigate the extent to which individuals are aware of industrial odors in a certain region ("Annoyance and Health Reactions to Odor from Refineries and Other Industries in Carson, California," Environmental Research, 1978: 119-132), a sample of individuals was obtained from each of three different areas near industrial facilities. Each individual was asked whether he or she noticed odors (1) every day, (2) at least once/week, (3) at least once/month, (4) less often than once/month, or (5) not at all, resulting in the data and SPSS output at the bottom of the next page. State and test the appropriate hypotheses.
