Refrigerant-12 is contained in a piston/cylinder arrangement at 2 MPa, 150°C with a mass less piston against the stops, at which point V = 0.5 m3. The side above the piston is connected by an open valve to an air line at 10°C, 450 kPa, shown in Fig. P5.66. The whole setup now cools to the surrounding temperature of 10°C.
