Many domestic companies have chosen to “offshore” their production operations to countries with lower wage rates. Some of the countries being used have been accused of allowing sweatshops, child labor, and polluting conditions that would not be allowed domestically. Research the benefits of, and problems with, offshoring and answer the following items:

a. How should offshoring affect the establishment of performance measurements?
b. If you were an expat manager for a division in a developing country, how would you defend the fact that the wages being paid to your employees are so much less than the minimum wage required domestically?
