Exercise 7.8 Joseph et al. (1995) wished to estimate the prevalence of Strongyloides infection using data from a survey of all Cambodian refugees who arrived in Montreal during an 8- month period. The authors considered two diagnostic tests. For the serology diagnostic test, 125 subjects showed a positive test outcome while 37 subjects had a negative outcome. Information extracted from the literature and expert knowledge gave the 95% equal tail prior CI for the sensitivity and specificity equal to [0.65, 0.95], [0.35, 1.00], respectively. Derive the prior distributions and repeat the analysis of Example VII.7 making use of the DA approach.
