Think of two people with whom you have worked at school or work–one an excellent listener and the other a poor listener. Describe and contrast these two individuals in terms of their ability to actively listen: paying attention, holding judgment, reflecting, clarifying, and sharing. Explain how each person made you feel as he or she listened, or didn’t listen, to you. Explain two or three ways in which you want to emulate the excellent listener in the workplace.
