Two school districts are looking at the results of a statewide reading test. Although the two districts have very similar means on the tests, the standard deviation of student test scores is much larger for Happy Valley than for Shady Glen. Explain this result to an assembly of parents from both districts who don’t have a stats background. A sentence is sufficient.
