In₂S₃ can be converted into metallic indium by a twostep process. First, it is converted into In₂O₃ by reaction with oxygen. The other product of the reaction is SO₂. Indium metal is obtained by reaction of In₂O₃ with carbon. Assume that the other product of the second reaction is carbon dioxide.
