Read the following passage carefully before answering the questions. Spraying crops with insecticides has become more efficient. A portable high voltage generator gives the drops of liquid insecticide a small positive charge. This makes the liquid break up into smaller drops and causes the spray to become finer and spread out more. The plants, which are all reasonable conductors, are in contact with the earth. As the droplets of spray get near the plants, the plants themselves become slightly charged and attract the droplets.
