The materials a teacher provides for the Interpretive mode will become mentor texts, example formats the learner will adapt, edit, innovate, and reimagine for subsequent Presentational mode tasks. If we want learners to be able to compose a digital booklet for a new album, an infographic on good health practices, or a video performance someday, we need to provide these mentor texts accompanied by tasks that mediate a response.
