The selection process covers a broad range of skills and activities for both the employer and job seeker. Your service activity can focus on either group. 

• Develop a presentation for middle school or high school students on getting a great summer or part‐time job with an effective résumé and good interview skills.

• Contact local shelters about helping clients complete online job applications or teaching job interview skills.

• Help local nonprofit organizations with their screening process for volunteers.

As you put your service learning experience together, keep a journal of your activities, the time you spend, contact information for people you work with, and your thoughts about the process. When you’re finished, make a presentation to your class about the experience and what you learned. What concepts from Chapter 7 were you able to apply?
