=+● What are the nature and role of the employers’ associations in each country?

Because there is very little multi-employer bargaining in some countries (such as the US) and most bargaining takes this form in other countries, MNEs need to learn as much as possible about the role of these associations in each country.

Sometimes the multi-employer bargaining is regional (within an industry), sometimes industry-wide, and sometimes national, covering all or most industries.

The questions an MNE needs to address relative to employers’ associations include: Which associations exist? Should the MNE belong (why, why not)? What does membership entail, do most employers join, and can the firm avoid joining?

With the weakening of unions which is happening in many countries, is most bargaining still being conducted on a national and/or industry-wide level, applying to all or most employers and employees?
