A Japanese newspaper conducted a survey in Japan regarding the consumption of whale meat, and reported that of all the thousands of respondents, only 4 percent said that they actually ate whale meat at least sometimes. The newspaper then wrote this: “A growing number of Japanese don’t want to eat whale meat. And if they won’t eat it, they won’t buy it. And if they won’t buy it, say goodbye to Japanese whaling.”
