According to news reports, Kay Delzer, 2019 North Dakota Teacher of the Year, remodeled her third grade classroom to capture some of the comforts and atmosphere of Starbucks. She expects daily postings by her students on Twitter and Instagram. She has her own brand, “Top Dog Teaching.” She is thought of as a “teacher influencer.” She and others like her become brand ambassadors who promote products online, at conferences and elsewhere. They receive the latest technology to try in their classrooms and are given inexpensive freebies such as t-shirts for herself and for handing out to other teachers who come to her very successful workshops.
