Literature review:

Suppose you are writing a thesis/dissertation on strategic management accounting.

You intend to review critical accounting and management literature in order to explain the political-economic implications of the TQM/JIT-based reinvention of management. You are also thinking of the possibility of using a critical social theory

(e.g. Foucault, Marx, institutional theory, etc.) in this respect. Your attention is mainly on how TQM/JIT gave rise to a new regime of labour control.

You are required to do the necessary literature survey and write a chapter circa 5,000 words. You should search the academic journal databases for recent management and accounting literature on strategy as well as critical political assessments of the recent trends in management and accounting (e.g. Munro 2012).
