Etic approaches of identifying universal dimensions versus emic approaches of identifying indigenous dimensions have been used extensively in the cross-cultural literature; some have argued that these are artificially polarized. Discuss if and how there can be a mediating position in its application to leadership. Discuss whether or not there are any truly universal principles that can be applied to any cultural group about their leadership.
