Consider the Clarks footwear company, which has been producing shoes since 1825 and is perhaps best known for its Original Desert Boot. Visit the Clarks Web site at www.clarks.com, and click on “Construction” to learn more about how the boot is made. Note, that although some repetitive manufacturing is involved, the company stresses the craftsmanship that goes into each shoe. Create a chart based on the one in Figure 13.2, showing what you think a typical production line would look like for the desert boot, starting with raw materials.
