3. Assume the role of a consultant to a major retailer—say, Macy’s, Home Depot (or Lowe’s), Target, Crate and Barrel, or the like. You’ve been hired to research the potential profitability of a new retail store near your college. Visit not only the Web site for the retailer you’ve chosen but also two or three Web sites for other retailers whom you think will be competitors. Then create a chart of the eight factors about a site in relation to its potential as a store location that are listed in the chapter on page 189, filling in as many details as you can to help your client determine whether to open a new store in your town.
