Form groups of three or four people, and appoint one member as the spokesperson who will communicate your conclusions to the rest of the class.
1. Take a few minutes to think about situations in which you believe your performance was judged in an unfair manner. These situations could be related to work, school, a sport, or a hobby.
2. Take turns describing these situations and how you felt.
3. Then take turns describing why you felt you were not judged fairly.
4. As a group, come up with a list of the determinants of perceived unfairness in performance appraisals.
5. As a group, come up with a list of recommendations to help ensure that performance appraisals are perceived as fair.
