1. Visit a local supermarket or bank, find someplace to sit, and observe the interactions of employees and managers for as long as you are comfortable. Note especially the interactions with managers, and try to infer what kind of rules are operating around hierarchical boundaries.

Watch how employees deal with each other, and see what you can infer about relationships. Are they Level 1 or Level 2?
