You are building a pool table and want the design to be such that any ball that rolls into one of the side rails without slipping bounces off the rail and rolls away in another direction, again without slipping. After some experimenting, you decide that you must build the rails to a specific height that is some function of the radius of the balls. (It seems plausible to assume that the collision is elastic.)
