Use some version of the verbal expression, to be contingent, in a nontrivial sentence. By trivial I mean like “I must use ‘to be contingent’ in a sentence.” In other words, I want you to use “to be contingent” in a way that shows you understand how to use the term correctly. For example,

“Attention is contingent on Rod’s crying.”
