A large national retail organization specializing in upscale, trend-forward merchandise that appeals to a younger clientele is experiencing considerable difficulty managing its employees. Morale is very low, and there have been numerous incidences of bullying and incivility among employees. Theft among employees has increased and is much higher than the national retail average. Absenteeism and turnover rates are also much higher than the national average. The retailer is considering several interventions to address these problems including the use of personality tests but is very skeptical that personality tests could be of any help.
