A leader’s impact on other is important for the leader to understand for all but one of these reasons:

a. Role modeling may in fact be advancing negative behaviors.

b. Expectations for positive behaviors may be contradicted by leader behaviors.

c. Nonverbal emotional competence behaviors do not influence others.

d. Passionate optimism is often interpreted as aggressiveness.
