In the left-hand column click on The Numbers followed by Annual Report and Financials. Select the HTML version of the most recent annual report. Click on next to reach the table of contents. Use the Consolidated Balance Sheets to answer the following questions.

a. Does the Darden Restaurants company use cash-basis or accrual-basis accounting? How can you tell?

b. For the two most recent years list the amounts reported for "Cash and cash equiva- lents" and for "Land. Buildings and Equipment." For each of these accounts, identify whether it requires an adjustment at the end of the accounting period.
