Recent organizational research has seen a resurgence of the behavioral theory of the firm (BTF). What concepts and ideas are at the center of recent BTF scholarship? How does BTF, as introduced by Simon (1947) and by Cyert and March (1963), differ from current research relying on the BTF foundation? What advances have been made to our understanding of actors, decision-making, the environment, and inter-organizational relationships?
