The purpose of this activity is to compare your self-perception with the perceptions of others concerning your listening skills. Figure 5 is a listening skills assessment instrument.

Complete this instrument for yourself. Then ask at least two other people whom you trust to be open and honest to complete the instrument with you as the subject . Does their perception of your listening skills match your self-perception?
