A chemistry parable. A tortoise and hare decided to take quantitative analysis. (I don’t know why either.) In the first hour the hare did 10 10 titrations with a standard deviation s of 1.5%1.5%. The tortoise completed only 22 titrations, but her standard deviation was 0.5%0.5%. 

(a) What are the standard deviations of the mean for the hare and the tortoise after 11 hour? 

(b) After 22 hours (total of 2020 titrations for hare, and 44 for tortoise)? 

(c) What is the moral of the story?
