Apply and analyze interpersonal theories, concepts or competencies by either examining your own intrapersonal communication or the communication competencies of others. The goal of this assignment is to use a primary source and to analyze and comment upon the interpersonal dynamics that are evident in your analysis.

If you wish to pursue your own ideas, be sure to consult with me prior to starting your work. Interview with an Interpersonal Professional/Scholar: Interview a professional or scholar on the topic of interpersonal communication. Be sure to explore her/his work or research prior to the interview and to create a series of questions, which you will also submit along with your term paper.

Part One: Introduce the purpose of the paper, the expert, and the communication theory (ies), concepts and/or competencies that the professional/scholar will discuss. Outline the questions that you will/have ask the expert prior to your meeting with him/her;

Part Two: Demonstrate that you have fully researched the theory, the person or organization in question and show how his/her contribution affects close and personal relationships; and

Part Three: Discuss whether or not and perhaps how this interview has changed or challenged your perception of interpersonal communication. If it has not changed or been challenged, perhaps discuss why this is.
