Cody found that even though he wanted to maximize profits by serving a certain amount of beef dinners and fish dinner every night, people did not order this way. Many people wanted to have a dog-friendly veggie burger. Lucky convinced Cody that veggie burgers must be added to the menu. Don was informed to create a signature veggie burger. Millersville was hosting a vegetarian conference in two-weeks. Cody thought it would be a good idea to advertise and get a large portion of conference attendees to visit the Bistro for dinner. Cody believed that his veggie burger would beat the local competition. Who would want a cheese pizza when you could have a proper gourmet dinner cooked by Don?

Lucky wants to have the veggie burgers on the menu for 55.95. The Bistro uses an easy to understand formula for pricing. The menu price is equal to 4 times the price of the raw goods. For example, if an item ordered that cost 51.00 in raw goods, the menu price would be 54.00. The first 25% of the 54.00 would go to paying for the raw goods. The second 25% would go to paying for labor. The third 25% would go to paying for the building and lease. The final 25% would go to profits and/or advertising. For the veggie burger, the fries and condiments cost 50.4875. So this leaves S1.00 in raw goods available for the burger.

Restaurants Depot has the following veggie mixes available:

Cody wants Don to create a Veggie Mix at the least possible cost. The burger must be at least 95 calories. The burger must also contain no more than 10 mg of salt per burger or the food will be unhealthy for little dogs.

Cody agrees to have the burgers on the menu for 55.95 but he also wants to run a special during the conference. Using the standard formula uses at the Bistro, what price can Cody run the veggie burger special during the conference?

Turn in a 1 page managerial report that states:

1) For a burger, what percentage of Burger Mix A,B,C,D, and E will be needed?

2) What is the cost of 1 burger in raw goods?

3) What price should Cody run his special during the Conference?

Burger Mix A B D E Calories 110 130 90 90 120 Fat 3.5 6 3 2.5 6 Salt Per Burger (mg) 3 5 3 15 2 Cost per Burger 0.76 0.89 0.71 0.38 0.96
