Create a PowerPoint Presentation.

1. Ask your friends, family members or coworkers this question: Within the past year, have you bought a product or service that you were really excited about. How many are healthcare related?

2. Go to a doctor search website for your county. Choose a specialty, like obstetrics and gynecology or pediatrics. Find the number of doctors in that specialty who serves your county.

Then go to the US Census (http://www.census.gov/acs/www/) and find the population for your county.

Calculate the ratio of physicians in that specialty per 100,000 people in your county. How does this number compare with the ratio for that specialty in table 6.1 (p.186)? What does it tell you? What conclusions can you draw from this analysis?
