Since the police are public employees and commonly interact with the public, is it not a reasonable expectation that the public will, from time to time, view police officers in the performance of their duties? Given the ubiquitous presence of cell phones with recording capabilities, should not the police have a reasonable expectation that their actions will, from time to time, be recorded? Why would the police object to being videotaped if they are engaging in lawful behavior? After all, it is quite common for police to record the actions of citizens by way CCTV.
