Watch the movie “The French wordmise-en-scene literally means “staging” or “putting on a scene.” And answer the following questions:

1. As you watch the film, be alert to the mise-en-scene and to your emotional response to it. Are you comforted or made anxious by it? Are your senses overwhelmed or calmed by what you see on the screen, in each frame? What elements of mise-en-scene contribute the most to your emotional response?

2. Does the mise-en-scene simply create physical setting for the film or is there some symbolic significance in the objects, people, costumes that are presented in the frame(s).
