You are somewhat concerned about the reliability of financial data from the Internet, and decide to check the data versus BP's SEC filings. To obtain these filings, go to MSN (http://moneycentral.msn.com/home.asp). Type BP into the "Name or Symbol" box and click "Get Quote." Once BP comes up, select "SEC Filings" from the vertical menu on the left-hand side. Scroll through the filings to find the latest 20-F. Foreign Annual Reports. Download the PDF version of this report and expand the document bookmarks on the left-hand side. Select Base, then Financial Statements, and then either the Balance Sheet or Income Statement to find the numbers you need. Is there any discrepancy between these numbers and the data you downloaded originally?
