I have over the past few years managed to resolve customer's frustrations and concerns with evidence of my excellent quarterly performance report. As the proverbial saying, "The customer is always right", but in a case of an irate customer due to repeated poor service quality and communication issues, a special talent is needed to win them back.
Listening to customers pour their frustration without interrupting, understanding, and owning the problem is one most important skills I possess. A good understanding of the customer's viewpoint is key to calming them down even when there seems to be no direct solution to their problem. In resolving such issues, Communicating my message in simple terms by offering viable alternatives goes a long way in winning the customer back I also understand that in the heat of things, some unprintable words may be used, and as a professional, I have to understand, and ignore such words.
