When you think about reading your peers' papers, what questions do you expect to be answered in their text? Just saying "Your topic sounds good" is not enough for these responses!

"A topic I am considering arguing about is that in today's world, some newborn parents are trying to deny or not include a newborn baby's gender in the birth certificate for the argument that it should be their decision (the child's) to identify as whatever they'd like once they are older. I think that this is an absurd ideology and a practice that should not be accepted by society or by hospitals. Over the past decade, people have fought for gay rights and their freedom to live their life however they want to, including legalizing gay marriage. There have also been advances in sexual orientations and gender pronouns that have made their way into society. Now it seems things are escalating by people trying to implement these ideologies and customs to babies. People who agree with these ridiculous ideas will argue two things: one, that the decision to assign or not assign their baby's gender is completely up to them and that they have a right to do whatever they want with their baby. Or two, that they would rather their baby not have an assigned gender because they wouldn't want to take that decision from them. They argue that their children should have the freedom and liberty to discover who and what they are once they are old enough. But the fallacy of their reasoning lies within their claim. Why not simply lay out pieces of paper that are labeled with all the sexual orientations that are in today's world and just let the baby crawl to one of them? The answer is simple, babies have no understanding of sexual knowledge. This is evidently why these types of parents wait until their child is older so that they can decide for themselves what to identify as. Not only that but I find it immoral to take a baby's gender away. Babies are pure souls that have been brought into this world, as messed up as it is, they are brought into this world to experience all the good things it offers. And the first thing these parents want to do is take away their gender, already their introducing them to a world of injustice and cruelty. And I say cruelty because still today, sexual orientations and rights are being fought against and discriminated against, so that baby will be brought into life with oppression. I also think it may confuse the child as he/she grows up."
