First, read George Orwell's essay "Politics and the English Language" (1946). Then, do some research online to find an op-ed piece on a news site about an issue that you care about. It can be authored by a politician, candidate, media personality, journalist, etc. Identify one or more passages in which the author writes in ways that Orwell would suggest is deceptive, unclear, or political in inauthentic ways. You must cite Orwell at least once in your description and discussion of the op-ed.
